This is also another way to explore opportunities in my photography business. I love, love, love taking photos and capturing that moment when you least expect it. My specialties are families, children, Seniors, bridals, engagements, & weddings. Of course a challenge along the way is something I'm up for any day of the week!

You may notice that I've posted personal events and moments that happen in my own life. This blog is meant for me to express how photography has changed my life and to show just how much I love snapping photo's of my family, a bride, or a special event, etc.

Carrie's Senior Session

All I can say about Carrie is that she is fun, loving, charismatic, devoted, level-headed, and can play her instruments beautifully.  I had the opportunity to work with Carrie and her mother and they probably thought I was crazy getting down in the grass and dirt, but I think I captured photo's that they can both treasure for a long time.

Thanks again Mrs. Helen and Carrie!

Allison's Senior Session

Allison's mother and I have been friends for a looong time and I just love this family!  They are a hoot to be around and have to say that my friend sure did birth a beauty!!

An Old Oak Tree and a Tire Swing

For the past few weeks I've been riding back and fourth on Juban Rd. for Girl Scout stuff.  This is a road that runs between two major highways in Denham Springs.  And everytime I ride down Juban, I pass this old house with the gorgeous and huge oak tree with a tire swing.  When I would pass, it would usually be around 6:30 or close to 7:00 p.m. and the sun shining through the leaves and moss was simply amazing.  I knew then that I had to capture some photo's under that darn tree.  So, I stopped one Sunday evening at the house, parked my car, and proceeded to knock on the door hoping someone would answer.  Well, no one did.  I left my business card in the door frame with a note saying, "Please call me!  I would like to photograph my daughter under your oak tree".  Lowe and behold, they called that night.  I was soooo excited that they responded cause you know just any ole person can leave a card and say, "Call me", and really expect someone to call back.  I had to call the person back the next day and knew as soon as I had time, I would be out there like white on rice!

After school and work on a Monday evening, Cameron and I headed out to Juban Rd. to meet with the homeowners.  When we pulled up the couple was sitting on the front porch with their little girl.  I re-introduced myself to the man and the woman and met their daughter.  They had another little girl and she was just as adorable!  So we chatted a little and told them that to return the favor of letting me borrow their tree and swing, I would be back another day to take some photo's of their blonde hair and blue eyed little girls.  Can't wait for that, but that's a whole other blog thing.....so stay tuned.

The point for this blog was that I wanted to capture a silhouette shot of Cameron on the swing under the big oak and flowing moss.  I think I captured what I wanted, even with some fussiness from Cameron....and here it is:

I tried not the get that light pole in the background, but I still think what I was trying for shows through!

(All of the photo's you see have not been edited.  They are in their true form!)

My Brand Spanking New Clawfoot Tub!

I have to say one of my proud moments has to be when my new master bathtub was delivered.  I have always wanted a cast iron clawfoot tub, and now I have one!  I'm so, so, so excited and even more excited now that it's finally in my new house.  I can not wait to fill this sucker up, soak up some bubbles, drink a glass of wine, listen to some Sade, and lay back and just R-E-L-A-X!!!!!!  It's even more beautiful in person and so silky smooth.  Oh and the pewter silver claw feet are to die for...I'm in love with a bathtub.  Hey, can that happen?

How We Roll on Sundays!

What do you do when your bored on a Sunday afternoon?  Take some pictures of course...what else?  Cameron and I had this big idea to take some dressy portraits on this particular Sunday, but decided very quickly not to.  It was one of those days that you reeeally didn't want to get all fancied up, but wanted to go do something fun and free.

For awhile now, whenever I drive through downtown Denham Springs, theres a painted wall there that catches my eye every time I pass.  I've BEEN wanting to get a photo of Cameron under this huge arrow and that has the word "Funky"...and that so describes my little darling of a daughter.  She needs a sign over her head that reads, "Funky Fresh"!  LOL!  There is also this gigantic painted sun as well that would make a cute photo.  So you know what?  I got her little butt out there (with a little pushing) and we snapped a few shots.

As we were walking to the car, we stopped by the Old City Hall and snapped few more...

That arrow is pointing right at someone who's "Fun, Funky, & Unique"!

Hold on to that sun girl....eeerrrr-aaahhhhh

My fav from this day :-)
