Welcome to Melissa Roe's Photography blog site!! I'm glad you're stopping by and taking a look at my 1st attempt in blogging. This is also another way to explore opportunities in my photography business. I love, love, love taking photos and capturing that moment when you least expect it. My specialties are families, children, Seniors, bridals, engagements, & weddings. Of course a challenge along the way is something I'm up for any day of the week!

You may notice that I've posted personal events and moments that happen in my own life. This blog is meant for me to express how photography has changed my life and to show just how much I love snapping photo's of my family, a bride, or a special event, etc.

Enjoy your stay and be sure to leave a comment as to what you think or send me an email at melissaroephotography2010@yahoo.com....hope to hear from you!

Biloxi Weekend Getaway

One weekend, several months ago, my family decided to take a weekend trip to Biloxi beach and just relax.  We asked my mother-in-law to join us and she did.  We had the best time...eating, laughing, and playing in the sun.  The weather was perfect and the light was perfect.  So, of course I had my camera and went to shooting everything like always.  But one of my favorite pic's shot, was the one my husband captured of my daughter and I....and you can view it at the top of my blog page.  We had a good time that weekend and plan to go back again!

Mother's Day 2010

I know Mother's Day has come and gone....but I was going through my photo file and stumbled on this one.  Since my mom just had surgery, I'm thinking of her as she recovers and this picture fits in perfect.  My mom is the most beautiful person I know.  I love my mom and my sister and they are two people I love dearly with all my heart.  Great moms deserve a Mother's Day EVERYDAY!

Happy Halloween!

High School Seniors caught by the photoCHICKS!

All the Seniors that joined Michelle and I on a gorgeous Sunday, enjoyed the photo-shoot as much as we did.  We had a great time laughing, playing, and posing.  Asked to be a model for a day isn't hard....as you can tell by the photos.

And then there was more....here a few Smileboxes of my Senior students:

Blessing of the Pet's

My daughter is involved with the Girl Scouts.  It's an amazing organization and we had the opportunity to volunteer in an annual "Blessing of the Pets" at a local church.  People came from everywhere and brought all types of pets.  From dogs to turtles to horses...it was so much fun and having all the pets together at once was  a bit exciting for everybody....including the 4 legged ones!

Sunset on the Mississippi

These photos were taken between 6:30 pm - 7:00 pm at the levee across from the River Center.  My husband's cousin, Michelle, were out and about checking locations for an engagement shoot I was having.  It so happens we were there at the perfect time to catch the sun setting.  The photo's above have not been edited in any way and I'm very proud of how they produced such an amazing sun glow.  The last photo is just some random guy sitting on the levee...you would never know he was some punk rock guy with colored hair and grungy clothes.  I love these particular photos since it really shows you how beautiful Baton Rouge, La. can REALLY be!
